I have an odd problem with my turn signals. When switching them on in either direction, the relay starts going nuts clicking very rapidly, or hardly clicks at all. The hazard switch kicks off the relay and lights just fine. I figured it had to be the relay, so put in another with the same result. I do not know of any other device in this circuit that would cause this. Any ideas?

Thanks, JRV. I traced the wiring diagram and it looks like it does go through the hazard switch. That is a good check since I assumed if the hazard switch worked, it was not the problem.

Nick, it is an injected Boxer

TED : Did you say that the hazards are working fine?

How many pins on the relay? Does it display terminal numbers?

If the hazards are working OK, check that all bulbs are illuminating properly (i kind of assume you've already done this)

Did you do any work on the car prior to flashers not working?

Default Guys - I think I may have over

Guys - I think I may have overlooked the obvious. My rear deck is off the car, so no rear lights are plugged in. What threw me was that the hazards worked pefectly for the front lights. The PO had told me the car had a turn signal issue every so often, so I just assumed it was that. Once I plug the back in, I hope all will be normal. There went $50 for a relay I doubt I now need!

Default Ted, Every Spring now, for

Ted,

Every Spring now, for the last 10 or so years...when my BB comes out of hibernation, the turn signals don't work at all.

The fix:

Flip the 4-way flasher switch on and off a few times (they always work)....and voila, the turn signals are now fixed for the season.

Regards,
David
