JRV I am sure you know this one. What does it do and what does it send power to? I am refering to the coolant temp sensor for the CIS system on the recovery tank. Mine is a closed circuit when cold and open when warm. So it must divert power somewhere.
Here is where I get confused. I thought it was to tell the ECU open/closed loop but the 83' QVs have one and have no 02 sensor or ECU. Kind of a puzzling question. Any insight is appreciated. |

Hi Rich,
the coolant temp sensor on the header tank sends a signal to the Ignition ECU that it's time to advance the timing. Those switches open at about 140F. Ferrari retards the timing and raises the idle for faster warm-ups and reduced "overall" emisions by heating the engine faster. Regards, JRV |
