Default What's the California's "flat crank" about?

Anybody know what a flat crank is and why listing that as a feature of the new CA engine means anything?

the connecting rod journals are all spaced in a single plane,, 180 degrees apart. typical "normal" crankshafts have their connecting rod journals spaced at various angles on the degree circle. A 180 degree "flat" crankshaft produces a different torque curve in the engine because of the different firing order and the timing of the firing pulse's. . also a different sound in the exhaust. Its been around for years in racing engines. Many pro's and con's to each type of crankshaft, which must be matched to the use of the engine.
Did you ever get your exhaust DTC codes shut off or corrected?
