I recently bought a 2004 360 Spider with the FI paddles. My question to present owners is "what is the best way to downshift the car"? Should I brake the car and then downshift while watching the tach? Should I slow the car by downshifting (this would probably wear out the clutch) or should I let the computer downshift as the car slows, while braking?
Just step on the brake as normal. The
transmission will downshift properly
without intervention. I agree with not
"big truck downshifting" on a Ferrari.
Thanks for the info. A friend with an older 360 recommends keeping the car in sport mode. I'm not sure but it seems to shift better and handle somewhat better. What do you think?
