Hi,
My Dino is running 15" Compomotive 3 piece split rims, I have checked on a tire size calculator http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalcold.html and the rims are about an INCH smaller than stock. This means that not only is my speedo 6% out, but I am losing a lot of performance. I also want to upgrade to larger brakes therefore need to go to at least 16" rims.
Does anyone know of a make that will fit? Something similar to the 360 rims would be cool?

I have found a set of 360 BBS 18" rims but haven't heard back from David.
Do you or anyone else know what mods I need to make to the rear?
I have calculated the ride hight should be the same, so is the problem just the offset? or would spacers sort this?

Just curious what performance

Just curious what performance you think you are losing by having smaller wheels. Seems like acceleration should be improved through lower effective gearing, but at a sacrafice of top speed and possibly gas mileage at higher speeds. On the plus side the speedo is optomistic by 6% making the car seem faster than it is for better performace perception and fewer speeding tickets!

14" & 15" tires ar

14" & 15" tires are getting very very hard to find for Ferraris, so going to a minimum of 16" wheels is the way to go, going forward.

Thanks for all the advice..

I have 4 reasons for wanting to do this.
1. In the UK we are blighted with speed bumps, in my Discovery I can go across them them at an unlimited speed, in the 308 I have to more or less get out and push it over.
2. Apart from losing speed, burning excess gas at $20.00 a gallon (£1.00 a litre) I am also clocking up 6% more miles than is real.
3. I want to stick larger disks on all round.
4. i think it will look cool ;-)

Does anyone know of what specs I must adhere to? I know about the overall size and the revs per mile.. but what about hub diameters, offset, front and rear etc..

Just in case anyone else is interested, i have knocked up this list of possible tite/rim size combinations. This is based on the stock tire being 205/70 r14
The difference is the % the speedo would differ from the correct stock tire.
My current size of 225/50 r15 is way of the end at 5.70%
