Won the Grand Prix in Nazi Ger

Won the Grand Prix in Nazi Germany in (I believe) 1937. 150 MPH on 4.00 wide tires!

Boy were the Nazi's pissed. The Germans were so convinced that they were going to win that they only had their own anthem to play on vinyl. As the story goes the Italian mechanics had a record of their anthem in a tool box and ran it up to the reviewing stand to the dismay of the officials.

The car is shown here with no engine as the supercharger was blown up on it's last outing at a historical/vintage race. Shown below is the damaged blower. The replacement was being fabricated from scratch!

Awesome pics!

These cars going the speeds that they did is quite amazing. I don't have any experience with Alfas in particular, but I've driven and been a passenger in a variety of pre-war cars and they really are quite a rush!

Cheers
