I want to disconnect the air p

I want to disconnect the air pump on my 83 308. I have 1 question though. There is 1 rubber hose about 3/4" or 1" diameter that connects on the bottom of the air pump. Do I leave it disconnected or do I plug the end of the hose and just move it to the side?

Cut off a piece of a broom han

Cut off a piece of a broom handle push it in and clamp it in place. It needs to be plugged.
