I'm collecting hoses for the Winter project of hose replacement on my '85 308. How much length is required for the heater hose and, although I know that 5/8" has been rec'd, what is the true metric size of the coolant line?

Having never seen a heater hos

Having never seen a heater hose burst or leak farther than 2' from the head, it's a generally accepted practice in most cases to splice a new hose to the old hose using a plastic or brass coupler approx. 3' from the head which is near where the hose goes over the L gas tank, behind the fender well.
If you want to replace the entire heater hose lenght necc. is approx 15'.

Thanks again, JRV. I already did a splice of about 1 foot from the engine outward early this past Summer. Perhaps this will be sufficient (?)
