Hi anthony,

there are several different type covered compartments depending on yr & model, but the general method of instalation was glue on the backside of the vinyl about 3/4" wide, then the compartment seal edge was pushed over the vinyl & body lip, securing everything in place and on some models a few screws around the perimeter or in the corners.

Thank you,

This weekend I will do the wipers, figure out my fuel leak (most important!) and I think I will just take the car to a luggage repair shop to fix the zipper as the "teeth" are fine - they are just not meshing together.

Anthony,

I think from the factory all the differt compartments had the double zippers, but I'd guess the vast majority of cars have been repaired at least once (or more) and could have any of a variety of zipper types.

I know the factory plastic zippers on 308's never lasted very long and there were kits that came with big fat heavy duty zippers. Then there were a number of other type repair kits that have come & gone over the years.
