I replaced the locking nut for

I replaced the locking nut for the lower transfer gear (I should have done it this past summer with the clutch but anyway) this past weekend and have a question:
When draining the oil out of the transfer case- there was alot more than .17 pints (1/3 cup approx.) in there. I was the one who filled it this summer with the correct amount and I know that the tranfer case and gearbox share fluid- but how could this be and do I have a potential problem? I would think not- but I wanted to check with you folks.

There was probably a cup or more of oil in there.
Could too much oil in there be a bad thing?

Thanks-

Did you drain just the transfe

Did you drain just the transfer case, or transfer case and trans, if just the former you most likely drained a small amount from the trans along with the transfer case oil.

Yep- only drained the transfer

Yep- only drained the transfer case. So now- does this mean I'm a cup or so low on gear oil?
Is that a problem?

I will. It's still up on the stands- so it will be easy. Just another copper sealing washer!

Thanks folks.
