My throttle cable is jerky. I

My throttle cable is jerky. I lubed everything I could think of. I am thinking it is in the cable and it is catching on the sheath somewhere. Pull it out from the engine side? Do I have to disassemble the counsel inside the car to route the new one through? Thanks.
