Recently I have noticed on the GT4 that when you push the left front side down by hand, it does not come up again, kind of stuck. The other side is very stiff but moves and comes back again. The rear shocks have been renewed some years ago when they were totally stuck after sitting for a longer period and the valves in the shocks were blocked.
I guess new front shocks are due? Does it make sense to change just the left side? Or can the shocks be repaired?

Hi Harry,

I've simply had Koni's rebuilt for many, many years.

I send them to these guys, decent turn around time and I've never had a complaint with their service:

I have always had shocks/strut

I have always had shocks/struts replaced in pairs, as you would want things even, and if one side went, you can assume the other is probably not far off. Would you only change brake pads on one side?

The shocks are pretty inexpensive to buy on line...I've seen them for around $120 to 140 at Tire Rack, but a quick check shows they don't carry the fronts for a GT4. BTW, they don't come with the bushings, so you will have to source those from other Ferrari parts suppliers. When I saw on www.tomyang.net that he had his shocks rebuilt by Koni, it was around $110 each, nothing wrong with that, but if new is only $20 more, and new come with a standard "lifetime" warranty, maybe you should consider new?

Try a "google" search for on-line Koni retailers, or check the back or Road & Track or Car & Driver magazines for retailers.

Thanks all.
I will contact Koni. From tomorrow the car will sit on its winter break, so there is plenty of time to do the work.
