You guys are too funny...
I was just venting, as things have been pretty boring around here, as of late. The BB is running like a Honda and nothing breaks anymore. I've been running 0W-5 engine oil in here and the gas mileage jumped from 7.5 to 8 MPG, although there's a strange rap-rap noise coming from the crankshaft area. My Pep Boyz mechanic said to put in some Slick 50, 'cause that stuff always works good. On the other hand, she's due for her 1,500 mile/three month timing belt change, but I'm not going to pull the engine this time. I fugure that with a hole saw, I can do it from the inside of the car. I find some good used belts on eBay, anyhow. Home Depot has some bearing that I think I can use for the tensioners for $13.99 a pair!!
She'll be due for tires again soon, as the orginals are now 25 years old. I can't decide if I want to use the Pep Boys 40,000 mile "T" rated "Road Wranglers" or the Firestone original "blown out the sideall" specials. After all, $139 for 4 tires, mounted and balanced will greatly effect the cost per mile.
She was running a bit rough yesterday...but two bottles of Techron and dry gas fixed those Webers right up. I heard that Marvel Mystery oil will fix the smoking problem, as well. I wonder if they have a "12-cylinder" formula?
I'd post some photos of my BB with hot babes, but seriously...I don't think they have any here in Cow Hampshire. Hmmm...Maybe that's why I'm so bored?
Regards,
David
