When I took my water pump off

When I took my water pump off the rear housing wanted to come with it so I took them both off. I thought I had drained all of the coolant but soe got on my new t-belts. Is that ok if I wash it off? Is it normal to have to pull the housing with the pump? Thanks.

I don't pull the housings normally, but it has to be loosened enough to replace the housing to block o-ring anyway.

Thanks. I guess I probably didn't need to take it off but I couldn't get the waterpump off of it in the car and it kept wiggling around. It is a good chance to clean it up.

The coolant runs in rubber hoses, so it would be hard to believe they could be harmful to the belts.
