I've had new struts sittin

I've had new struts sitting on a shelf awaiting installation on my TR, but have been putting it off. When I started looking at it, I see like many other things on this car it is physically impossible to get to them without tearing other stuff apart. Do I need to remove the headlights to do this job? Any tips would be very welcome.

I replaced mine some 10 years

I replaced mine some 10 years ago, and they promptly failed again, so I wont replace them again. I seem to recall having to do something there with the headlights. It was a pain, like all simple matters involving Ferraris. I was told then that one can buy those smallish struts at any discount auto store...when you figure out how to do yours, let me know, and I will replace mine again.

I recently replaced one of the

I recently replaced one of the front hood struts.....the right side. It was easy.....no need to mess with the lights. I removed the battery, and on the inside wall of the battery housing, one can get access to the proximal strut connection. As I understand, this is also true of the left side........one removes the cover, and gains access to the inner wall of that area.

Hoooooraaayyy Henry! That makes me feel a lot better....Thanks a Lot! Good to hear from you. Spent the afternoon, evening, and night so far...cleaning and puttering around on the car. Tomorrow is supposed to be nice driving weather and maybe Saturday too. So I'm going to get one last ride out of her, and want her to look good doing it. When done I think I'll post some pics like the proud owner that I am!
