Hi,

Since I would like to replace all my evaporative emission lines, I ordered some German black-cloth braided fuel line from an online source - 7mmID, 12mm OD. The stuff Ferrari used was 14mm OD - much beefier. The problem is, I can not find 14mm OD anywhere! The "SAIAG" hose Ferrari used is no longer made, I am told. I ordered some from Ferrari UK, but it has a tag with a date on it - December 1987! I am not sure I want to use hose that has been sitting around for 16 years as this would defeat the purpose of my replacing them in this first place.

Has anyone found a suitable replacement? Maybe I should go with stainless-steel braided?

I did not think 12mm OD vs. 14 mm OD would make that much difference, but it sure does - it's much more flimsy and I am not sure I want to use it.

Thanks,

Anthony

Decisions, Decisions Anthony,

Decisions, Decisions Anthony, to paint or not to paint, to hose or not to hose?

Relax man, it's a car! A Toy Car, make it fun, and try to stop sweating the small stuff.

IMO if the hose Ferrari UK sent you looks new and has not degraded, I'd use it without hesitation. If it has been on a shelf then it's far different than hose that lived in chemicals, heat and the harsh environment of use.

Regards, JRV

Try Newco Products in Chatswor

Try Newco Products in Chatsworth, Ca.
They seem to have all the hose.
They deal primarily on the web.
