In Houston my 355 tends to hea

In Houston my 355 tends to heat up a bit when stuck in Traffic... never into the red, but a couple of divisions away.

I bought some Royal Purple 'ice' as a coolant additive.

Has anyone had any experience of this prodcut to share .. good/bad/ugly?

Regards,

Pete

Hi Pete,

No experience with

Hi Pete,

No experience with that product but a couple of divisions away from red is probably normal for the heat we see here in Houston. I just finished a 5,000 mile trek through deserts (115 degrees), mountains (typically at 90-130 mph)and also a 1.5 hr. long cue (stop and go) getting into the Concorso d'Italiano and crossing the Hoover Dam. We passed several Lambo's on the side of the road with coolant and steam pouring out but my 99' 355 never even HINTED it was going to overheat. In fact it was very predictable relative to the outside temperature and how hard I was driving.
My first move would be to have the system serviced in case there are any issues withthe cooling system itself.

Check out this photo. The Lambo on the right was overheated .... the McLaren on the left was just too hot!
