Hello

As my username might

Hello

As my username might suggest, I have been a Porsche enthusiast for many years. During the past two years I have looked around for a Ferrari, to get a new hobby car alongside the Porsches.

I have now been a happy owner of a 308 GTS QV (50tmls) form 1984 for a month
. It has been nice to compare the work of Ferdinand and Enzo... I must say that they are both marvellous cars in their own way. We have wintertime where i live(Finland), and I will have good time to check the car before starting to enyoy it in the summer.

Darryl,

I think the sound

Darryl,

I think the sound is caused by the dinky little starter they put on these cars. Our 308 sounds a lot like our Honda, until it fires up.

I think the sound of the start

I think the sound of the starter motor is nice, its unike comparing to other cars...

I have noticed though that the mechanical sound is quite loud in the car, at least comparing to other sport cars I have owned! OK, the motor is not that far away from you... I will change the rear wheel bearings, they sound like they want to be replaced.

When you start up a normal car

When you start up a normal car, you can hear the engine turning over until the spark occurs!

On the Ferrari's all you hear is a whine and then all hell breaks loose. If this is caused by special started motors on supercars, do you think you can buy one for a normal car?
