Does anyone know the "normal" oil temperature operating range for a 308 QV ? This weekend I took her out for a casual run around the neighborhood and noticed the oil temp rising up slowly and steadily. The water temp was right on, the oil pressure was good. It was about 40 deg F outside. After I shut it down, I checked the oil and it was down a little below "LOW". COuld being down a quart or so raise cause the oil temp to go up ?

Mine oil temp now is lucky if

Mine oil temp now is lucky if it gets to half way 220F. It mainly stays lower than that. In the summer it will hit the halfway mark but never usually goes over and if it did only slightly. (not even half a indicator width)
Low oil could do this but I wouldn't think one quart would rise it up past halfway.
Check your oil temp sending unit and see if it has oil/road grime all over it. If so clean it off and try it again. I think these are fairly reasonable parts to replace. They are similar to the coolant temp sending unit and those are around $15. Keep us posted on what you find.
