In the FWIW category. Having just got a shipment of Shell Helix for my 360 customers, I thought I would again hit up my local Shell rep about possibly finding me some at a morte reasonable cost. He tells me that if a manufacturer stipulates a specific brand and grade of oil MUST be used in order to maintain the warranty, then the dealer must supply that product FOC to customers. He quoted a court case regarding Cummins doing a similar thing and that was the court ruling. Thought you might like to know.

The fine folks at Continental in Chicago told my customer that the Shell should be used to avooid warranty issues. They said they could sell but not ship it to him, no problem having the work carried out at an independent. They also gave the line about brake fluid not being changeable without the computer hookup!
