Am taking JRV's advice and

Am taking JRV's advice and ordering a set of Euro s/s Larini headers and silencer. Am a bit weary of the tubi volume and scream on commute and long trips (although sounds wild above 5.5K if you are in the mood), so discussed other possibilities. Here is the build brief:

"As discussed, looking for the deepest, smoothest musically sonorous tone
possible, much to approximate a Ferrari 365 gtc/4 as best possible. Looking for
a tolerable deep smooth cruise tone/volume at 3000 - 4000 rpm. Hoping more for
a deep baritone than the current screaming Tubi tenor.
The 4 exhaust tips should be like a Ferrari Daytona as much as possible: same
size (sl. larger than the stock 308), angled cut tips, about 45 degrees; and
they should come out of the bottom of the car angled up from the ground
horizontal about 20 degrees, extending 6 - 8 inches, again much like a
Daytona."

Sooo,
any advice on how to optimize the headers and exhaust for the cams and Webers? (OBTW, Dema Elgin got the cam cores last Friday, should know what his recommendation is in a week). I am also planning on removing the air injectors and plugging the ports. Will hit the Barnes and Nobles bookstore and check out what they have as well

All advice welcome; will keep everyone posted; Will have a 328/3.2 tubi muffler and Stebro test pipe for sale in March, I hope.
best

You said the quality look

JRV
You said the quality looked good on what you had seen, and you've never been shy about calling 'em like you see 'em.
. Heard from a Lambo owner that they are quite nice. Any other comments - Now's the time. They seem good on the phone....

Ordered from the UK. They are

Ordered from the UK. They are great on the phone.
They will make it to your specific requirements - mine will have a 250LM type exhaust exit out the rear valence with Daytona sized tips and polished headers instead of the tubi nubs I have now.

My 328/3.2 tubi and stebro test pipe.resonator will be for sale in about a month.
best to all

As an example of Larini's

As an example of Larini's service, David called me at home tonight to verify some measurements he knew I had messed up. Took at lot of time and walked me through all the specs as I measured against the car. So far, I'm very impressed with their dedication to getting things right...
I'm hopeful this may turn out pretty good...

Hi Russ,

glad to hear Larin

Hi Russ,

glad to hear Larini is giving good follow up. One thing I learned along time ago about "the service business", "service matters".

As Larini is such an unknown in the big scheme of things you might mention to them that there are a few Banner Sponsor spots still availible on F-Talk & L-Talk for quality companies that could benifit from exposure to a refined end user group.

Hey Ya Russ,
Posting that pic

Hey Ya Russ,
Posting that picture of the LM reminds me of the 250LM I saw in Seattle last June with straight pipes. Sounded like a buzz saw when he raced up the block with a companion 250 GTO. Talk about echo!
More pictures in the showcase section of this site. Look for Ferraris and Maseratis on 12th.

Looking forward to seeing what these Larini pipes look like...........
Cheers, DJ

Problem - need help if possibl

Problem - need help if possible
Larini is concerned that the American and Euro Mondials may have different rear mounting points on the rear subframe which would affect the tailpipes.
Does anyone know for sure if they are different between the two? Or, Larini said they would pay for an unservicable US spec rear single cat muffler to use as a pattern. Anyone have one laying around - they will come get it.
thanks - all advice appreciated
Russ

Russ, you might look into usei

Russ, you might look into useing drain plugs for blocking off those exhaust ports. As I recall, the 4Valve uses a 16mm plug, common at most parts houses, and they are the right length.
