Gonna start working on the car

Gonna start working on the car soon. Since this is the second time replacing the main seal, I would like to know what methods exist for extracting the old seal out without scratching or nicking the crankshaft. If you have any hints, I hope you wouldn't mind sharing them with me. Thanks.

I'm not sure of how

Jeff:
I'm not sure of how the TR seal is configured or situated. In the past, to get seals out of a blind hole situation, I have drilled a hole into the seal and then used a drywall screw to pull it out. I know this approach seems like something a semi-professional meat cutter may attempt--but it has worked for me before. Seals typically fit with a light "press" and they usually come right-out.
Good Luck,
Mark

I use basicaly the same procedure (few drywall screws in an auto, I use sheetmetal screws
)
