I am in the middle of a shifte

I am in the middle of a shifter shaft seal replacement on my 308.

Does anyone have a suggestion for what torque value to use to tighten the bolt that secures the gear selector fork to the shifter shaft in the gearbox?

Stacy,

On the BB...which has a similar set-up to the 308 series cars, the torque figure is 15-18 lb-ft, based on the premise that the bolt is 8x1.25mm pitch, graded 8.8.

I agree with David. While loo

I agree with David. While looking at the torque figures, in the WSM, of various applications, one will notice that almost ALL 8mm size bolts are torqued to 15-18 Ft-lbs.
